Pembroke April Event - April 19 at Markham Park
Event
Scenario
Winner
Steel

It's a boars hunt!
Combatants will face off one against the other using Pembroke's 2-handed spears.
These weapons are thrusting only. Because you must use both hands, this will be "killing blows only."
The fight ring will be expanded to accomodate the greater reach of these weapons. Comments by the spectators on who's the boar are encouraged!

Sir Alaric
Knight's Ren

We will be revisiting the gypsy rope fight this month
since we ran short on time last time and had to simplify the combat!
And yes, the knights will be using daggers only, killing blows only.
You are eliminated it you drop the rope. This one's up close and
uncomforable. If you have an allowable dagger, bring it.

Sir Patrick
Sargent's Ren
We discussed this one quite a bit. We really wanted the Sergants to share in the fun, so we're doing a gypsy rope fight here, too.
But because of the disparity in skill levels we felt it best to limit the weapons to rapier with a slightly longer rope.
We were concerned because there is less flex in the dagger and we didn't want anyone hurt from an over enthusiastic thrust.
We aren't gigging frogs here, folks! It's killing blows only. And you are eliminated it you drop the rope.

Call out the guard! Combatants will face off one against the other using Pembroke's pole weapons.
These weapons are cutting and whacking ('scuse me, STRIKING) only, NO THRUSTING!
This too will be killing blows only. We will use the expanded fight area.

Pembroke June Event - June 21 at Markham Park
Event
Scenario
Winner
Steel

Because we are now entering the hottest season in South Florida
We will be keeping the Steel scenarios simple. It will be an open field
melee.
All blows count. No death from behind. Secondaries and shields allowed.
Last man or woman alive on the field wins.

Knight's Ren

We will be using a standard tourney format, first combatant to score
3 kills on their opponant advances on the list till there is a
winner. Single weapon, no secondaries or buckler. Killing blows
only. This is familar to all of us. Here comes the fun part!

Before the start of each point(!), opponents will draw from a bowl a
card/slip of paper which indicates the kill target of that combatant
(head, torso, L arm, etc). With out looking at it's contents, each
combatant will immediatly hand it to one of the marshals. The card
is then shown to all the marshals and his opponent. The combatant
will be the only one who doesn't know what part of his body to
defend. Thus he has to defend everything. Combatants will draw a new
target card after each point won until the first combatant to get
three points wins. That opponent then advances to the next round.
